Account Manager

Job Summary

The Account Manager within our Sensified Department manages assigned clients and projects, directs cross-functional teams, and serves as the client lead, with oversight from the Senior Vice President, Accounts. The role needs to build strong client relationships, listen for new business/growth opportunities, and foster organic growth through excellent client service and project execution. Further, this individual is a true team captain, and knows when it's appropriate to get their hands dirty in the weeds.

Job Responsibilities and Skills

  • Master industry marketing strategy and tactics for assigned brands and disease states
  • Manage projects across account(s) from kick off to delivery – this includes outlining roles and responsibilities for the account team to ensure projects are staffed appropriately
  • Own relationships with core clients: communicate client requirements to the project team, monitor and assist on projects as needed to ensure client expectations and timelines are met (a true team player)
  • Review all account work and program materials for accuracy and alignment with marketing messages and industry standard before it goes to the client
  • Responsible for reporting progress to senior management and ensuring project budgets stay on track
  • Generate and maintain rapport with clients, external experts, and vendors to ensure the highest level of customer service and satisfaction
  • Develop client documents including meeting summaries, tactical recommendations, statements of work, project briefs, follow ups, etc.
  • Lead live or virtual client meetings (travel required)
  • Master and manage financial aspects of assigned business and participate in revenue recognition and accruals
  • Collaborate with senior management on brand planning process, identify ways to integrate ClinicalMind/SENSIFIED solutions within overall brand plans
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop strategically-sound annual tactical plans ensuring brand/client objectives are fully met
  • Can lead new business pitch opportunities (with oversight), including the development of new business materials, PPT pitch capability decks, and other selling tool needs
  • Work with Operations on the approach to projects, ability to assist in developing best practices and processes including the capture of key learnings to support business growth
  • Financial goals and organic selling are associated with this position and will be established with management
  • Manage 1-3 junior account team members, follow ClinicalMind/SENSIFIED Management guidelines and expectations
  • Make positive workplace culture a priority
  • Independently makes decisions to successfully navigate day-to-day changing situations

Minimum Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through
  • Broad knowledge of healthcare industry and U.S. and non-U.S. pharmaceutical industry
  • 4-6 years of experience in a relevant function, creative or medical communications agency experience preferred
  • Strategic and solution oriented
  • Experience in client relationship building with flexibility and willingness to travel (up to 20%)
  • Ability to drive process and assist with details, while maintaining big picture oversight
  • Professional demeanor and excellent interpersonal teamwork skills, including team leadership
  • Strong ability to adapt communication style during interactions with clients, vendors, account team, etc. to elicit the best response
  • Resourceful and solution-oriented, proactive in recommending new ideas or solutions
  • Ability to think critically and strategically about the business
  • Solid work ethic and commitment to ClinicalMind's mission and core values
  • Ability to work from Raleigh, NC office 3 days a week (TWTH)
