Job Summary

The Controller will be a solutions oriented, seasoned accounting leader reporting directly to the CFO, who will plan and direct the accounting operations of the company, review monthly reports as well as trend analysis and other projects as assigned. The incumbent must demonstrate the ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.

Job Responsibilities and Skills

• Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
• Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.
• Manage day to day accounting operations as well as monthly account reconciliations, reports, and records by collecting, analyzing and summarizing account information.
• Responsible for monthly revenue recognition and documentation
• Generate accurate and timely I/S, Balance Sheet, and Statement of Cash Flows
• Maintain monthly cash flow forecasts, projecting net cash balance for next 13 weeks
• Leverages existing finance tools to drive accurate and timely close across 4 business units and multiple departments
• Maintain bank approval matrix and approval levels for wire/cash payment
• Produces annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management.
• Provides financial analysis as required.
• Works with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit.
• Perform financial and profitability analysis on a requested basis
• Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
• Performs these and other duties as assigned in adherence with the standards and expectations of the company
• Manages tax flings and year end and interim financial audits
• Partners with CFO and VP Finance on regulatory reporting, and lender covenant/compliance submissions
• Works collaboratively across the business to create, implement and monitor compliance with timesheet, expense, and travel policies

Minimum Qualifications

• CPA certification a plus: knowledge of accounting principles general and cost accounting, tax reporting and budgeting. Percentage of completion accounting is a must.
• Three-five years or more of controller or related experience required
• Experience in NetSuite is a requirement
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with ability to multi-task
• Experience in sales tax and other periodic tax filings
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
• Experience with Workfront and Concur is a plus
• Strong leadership and motivational qualities with a passion for staff training and development
• Effective written and verbal communication skills – able to work across departments outside of Finance
• Experience with tax calculations, filings and reporting
