Job Summary

The Account Director II develops, maintains, and assesses client accounts, building strong, long-term relationships and driving strategic growth opportunities. This role acts as a key advisor, designing and implementing solutions tailored to client objectives, and ensures that all client needs are met with expert guidance and professionalism.

Job Responsibilities and Skills

  • Build, nurture, and expand relationships with key client stakeholders, understanding their business goals and developing strategies to help achieve them.
  • Gather and analyze information from clients, partners, and market data to inform recommendations and drive results.
  • Develop targeted strategies, craft actionable plans, and ensure implementation aligns with both client needs and company objectives.
  • Maintain consistent, proactive communication with clients throughout the engagement process and across all projects or campaigns.
  • Provide thoughtful leadership and guidance, coaching team members and acting as a lead or first-level supervisor for subordinate groups.
  • Address complex client account issues independently, escalating only the most critical matters to higher-level staff as necessary.
  • Oversee major client initiatives, deliver presentations and strategic reports, and recommend improvements based on results and client feedback.
  • Champion new business growth and cross-selling opportunities, leveraging deep knowledge of client businesses and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate closely with creative, sales, and other supporting teams to deliver coordinated, top-tier service for assigned accounts.
  • Monitor account performance metrics, budgets, and timelines, continuously evaluating opportunities for improvement and innovation.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field required.
  • Typically requires 4 to 6 years of progressive experience in account management, including supervisory responsibility.
  • Comprehensive, hands-on knowledge of client strategy, industry trends, and advanced relationship management.
  • Customer and client orientation with keen interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Originality, creativity, and strategic thinking in developing solutions for client business challenges.
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to motivate, mentor, and lead teams to successful outcomes.
  • Ability to interpret and leverage complex data to inform recommendations and strategies
  • Required: Experience working in Endo, GI, or Metabolic
